ALOHA FROM THE COMMODORE
What a storm Felicia turned out to be! I have to say we
were lucky not to have more wind or rain.
Summer is here and we are still keeping a good count of members for Tuesday and
Friday Dinners! I want to thank all of you that keep coming for Chef
Arthur’s great meals and the camaraderie that you all bring. Remember we
are all members and even though we do not have a great way for you to know if
another member has seated themselves at a table, it is usually apparent by a
bottle, glass, handbag, etc. that the chair has been taken. Please
respect each other and not move in on a seat that has already been taken.
Also if you need an extra chair at a table, please take one from inside
the Club and not from the table next to you.
We are looking to have a class in CPR and Defibrillator
usage in the near future and I need to know who would be interested in attending
the class. You can e-mail me or call to let me know if you would be
interested.
The Board is moving ahead on the roof repair project and should be putting it
out to bid very soon. Stay tuned!
Merrily Bass has been working hard the past year and a half as the person in
charge of Club Rentals. She has recently moved to Kawai, so that position
will now be filled with a new member, Dan Woolley. He can be reached at
322-4320 or via email at cardanwool@aol.com. Many
thanks to Merrily Bass for a job well done and to Dan Woolley for volunteering!
By the way, don’t feel you somehow missed the July issue of the Porpoise
. . . one was NOT sent out! As you can see, this has been a quiet summer
with not much to report. Again, many Mahalos to all who support the Club
on Tuesday and Friday nights!
Your
2009 commodore Robin Barrett
